Eyebrows are a critical component in framing your face. Unfortunately, perfectly shaped, symmetrical eyebrows rarely grow naturally. If you want to give your appearance a simple yet dramatic makeover, microblading may be a great solution for you. This modern brow-styling technique offers a semi-permanent option for achieving your ideal look. At Back to 30™, serving Murrells Inlet and communities throughout Upstate South Carolina, we offer microblading performed by experienced medical aestheticians who have helped many clients design unique eyebrows that complement their facial features and enhance their beauty. With this advanced technique, achieving flattering, long-lasting eyebrows is easier than ever.
What is Microblading?
Microblading, also known as 3-D eyebrow embroidering or feather stroking, is a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing. These treatments are provided by highly trained professionals who manually apply each stroke, simulating the look and texture of strands of hair using a strategically designed tool. Microblading can be used to completely reconstruct the brow or conversely, is ideal for:
- Creating fullness
- Redefining your arch
- Extending the tail
- Covering gaps
Our knowledgeable skin care professionals can help you determine if microblading is the right choice for your cosmetic goals.
How Long Does it Last?
Unlike traditional tattoos, the effects of microblading typically last one to three years. However, the longevity of the pigment depends heavily on your skin type and skincare routine. Sun exposure, chemical peels, and using products with AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) or glycolic acid will also increase the rate at which the pigment fades. To maintain the best results, it is typically recommended that you undergo an annual touch-up.
Benefits of Microblading
Custom-designed brows can not only substantially boost your self-confidence, but also offer many other benefits:
- Decrease time it takes to apply makeup
- Create the appearance of more prominent eyes
- Eliminate the need to spend money on expensive eyebrow products
While traditional cosmetic tattooing has been a popular choice in the past, the option generally does not provide such natural-looking results.
Microblading with Back to 30
One of our medical aestheticians will first work with you to determine your treatment goals. You will be able to discuss your preferred color, shape, fullness, and any concerns you may have during your consultation. As experienced skin care professionals, our aestheticians can provide you with their suggestions based on your skin type, lifestyle, and facial shape to create complimentary eyebrows you will love.
Microblading is typically performed in two appointments which only take about one and a half to two hours. Our skilled professionals use gentle techniques as well as a topical anesthetic for virtually pain-free treatment during both sessions. First, your aesthetician will conduct symmetry mapping and marking to ensure precision. Microblading is performed by hand using a special tool consisting of ultra-fine needles to create realistic, hair-like strokes. Each stroke will be applied according to the natural growth pattern of your hair.
We will work with you to design a microblading treatment plan that can empower you to look and feel your best.
Once the pigment has fully settled into the skin, a second treatment will be provided three weeks after your initial session. For long-lasting results, this second appointment is necessary as certain areas may not properly retain pigment during the first session. Strokes may be added to create more fullness or the pigment shade may be adjusted for better definition. We can also address any concerns you may have at this time to ensure your satisfaction.
After Your Procedure
It will generally take about one to two weeks for the treatment area to heal. The pigment will fade significantly following treatment and it will typically take about a month to see your final results. Following your appointment you can expect:
- Redness for the first 24 to 48 hours
- Slight scabbing or peeling approximately one week after your procedure
- Prominent, dark pigment that will lighten after about two weeks
Your skin care professional will provide you with specific after-care instructions based on your skin type and other factors that may affect healing.
