by backto30

Hello fellow beauty lovers and skincare-obsessed alike! One of the questions we get asked about daily at our South Carolina Med Spa, Backto30, is “what are chemical peels and how will they benefit my skin?” Peeling is really on the rave right now, and we have to say, it’s one of our favorites, too!

If you have never had a chemical peel before, you’re in for a real treat. After reading this, you may wish you had discovered chemical peels sooner. Don’t worry, we are here to help! In this blog post, we’re going to go over what chemical peels are, why you will love them and how they can quite literally transform your skin. Plus, we want to introduce you to a skincare system we now carry from SkinMedica, called LumiVive® System. We think you’re really going to love this one!

What are Chemical Peels?

A chemical peel is a powerful exfoliating solution applied to the skin, designed to remove the outermost layers of dead skin cells, to reveal fresher, smoother, more radiant skin underneath. The exact process will vary based on which peel is used, because there are many different peels out there. The application is simple. Your skin is cleansed and prepared. After the chemical solution is applied to your skin, it is left for a specific amount of time to work it’s magic. While you wait, the peel exfoliates the skin. Once the peel is done working, it is peeled away to reveal new, refreshed and rejuvenated skin.

What Chemical Peels Are Offered at Back to 30?

Not all chemical peels are the same. In fact, there are many different peels for different skin concerns. Peels are typically categorized by their ingredients as each skin condition responds to certain ingredients differently. Whether you are struggling with wrinkles, blemishes, or pigment issues, Back to 30 will assess your skin type and skin condition, then find which peel is right for you. Some peels are stronger than others because they penetrate the skin more deeply. How sensitive your skin is will play a role in which peel is recommended.

At Back to 30, we offer the Vi Peel, PCA Sensi Peel and SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel. The SkinMedica Rejuvenize peel is a big one in our office right now, so be sure to ask us about it when you call! The peels we offer can only be purchased and administered by a medical professional. Let’s dive into these chemical peels!

Vi Peel

Vi Peel is a medium depth, painless and safe for all skin types chemical peel. Offering 5 custom peel blends, it’s great for those wanting help with acne, melasma, aging skin, hyperpigmentation, as well as acne scarring. When you come into one of our 4 Upstate South Carolina locations, our skincare experts will go over if we think this peel will be right for you based on your skin condition.

PCA Sensi Peel

Sensi Peel® is a unique chemical peel option for all patients, and you guessed it, great for those with sensitive skin. This universal 6% TCA solution will improve surface texture and brighten the skin while helping promote an even skin tone. The Sensi Peel offers 3 benefits: improves surface texture and brightens skin, promotes an even skin tone and reduces the appearance of fine like and wrinkles.

SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel

We love SkinMedica at Back to 30, and this peel has some big benefits! This is by far the peel we are focusing the most on currently when it comes to clients interested in a chemical peel! With the SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel, clients can see noticeable improvement after just ONE peel, and compelling results after three to six peels. Rejuvenize Peel™ is for patients with moderate to severe skinimperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture. This peel can also address skin unevenness that can be caused by acne scarring. As you can see, this peel addresses a lot of skin concerns with noticeable results quicker, which is why we are loving it so much. Another perk of this peel? Clients can use Alle points for it! When you come in for a consultation, ask us if Rejuvenize Peel is right for you.

What Are the Benefits of Chemical Peels?

There is a different peel available for most skincare concerns, which is fantastic! Since chemical peels have many benefits, they are a super popular choice for clients looking to improve their skin. The benefits we see vary based on the client’s skin type and issue. Let’s dive into some of the benefits of chemical peels.

Chemical Peels can Treat Acne

Think about it, topical acne products can only penetrate into your skin so far. With a chemical peel, we are exfoliating deeper, cleansing the skin and revealing a new, clear layer of skin.

Chemical Peels Can Minimize Pores

Ugh, does anyone else cringe when they see large pores on their face when they look in the mirror? It’s definitely a look we see clients complain about. No worries, chemical peels can help make the pores look smaller by removing the damaged, outer layer of skin.

Chemical Peels Can Help with Acne Scarring

You may have heard over the years that there is nothing you can do for your acne scarring. This can be pretty disappointing if you suffer from them. However, that’s simply not true anymore. Chemical peels are a great option for reducing the appearance of scars.

Chemical Peels Can Smooth Fine Lines & Wrinkles

This is a given, but we’ll go over it again! Chemical peels are an amazing option for those who have tried every skin care cream available and just can’t seem to shake those fine lines and wrinkles. Aging is so fun, isn’t it? This benefit of a chemical peel is what makes them so satisfying for clients looking to turn back time, or prevent time from turning!

Chemical Peels Can Balance Texture & Help Discoloration

If you deal with sunspots, hyperpigmentation or discoloration then you will really love a chemical peel. Uneven skin tone can be frustrating, but a chemical peel can bring balance, revealing more even, more radiant skin. If you’re wanting to achieve skin that simply glows, chemical peels are a great place to start.

What Can I Expect?

If you’re interested in a chemical peel, it’s important to start with an initial consultation in our office, so we can go over your skin condition and our certified skincare experts can make their best recommendations. We have 4 locations in South Carolina. You can book a consultation at any of our locations, we have offices in Boiling Springs, Simpsonville, McBee and Greenville, SC. Once wedecide which peel is right for you, we can discuss the number of treatments we think is ideal as well as what to expect during and after treatment. We can answer your questions about ingredients and benefits as well. During treatment, it’s not uncommon for tingling or burning sensations to occur, but these are normal and to be expected. Tolerance will vary from patient to patient. Don’t worry, these are the types of things we will go over before we start the peel! After treatment, we will go over follow up care, such as avoiding sun exposure!

We work hard to make sure each client is comfortable, so you can relax and know you will be getting the best treatment possible from our staff! After you book your consultation, it’s time to do a happy dance because you’re on your way to smoother, more beautiful, more glowing skin! We’re sure you have loads more questions about chemical peels, and we are happy to answer them when you call!
